Firefighting and emergency rescue – What should I do when I am stranded in mountains and there is no cell phone reception?
Call 112 on your cell phone instead:
- “112” is an emergency phone number available for cell phones worldwide. You may call “112” even without a SIM card, as long as your cell phone still has power and you have reception.
- “112” works in time of emergencies. If you do not have good reception, you can still call 112 and follow the instructions to put you through police department “110” or fire department “119” as long as your cell phone is still able to make and receive phone calls and the reception from any mobile phone service is good. Also, 112 comes with instructions in both Chinese and English, and the latter is convenient for international travelers visiting Taiwan.
